Knjiga Vladimira Arsenića Arbitri i modeli nastavak je te serije, za razdoblje koje ne pokrivaju prethodne dvije knjige. Vladimira Arsenića nije potrebno posebno predstavljati nikome tko iole prati književno polje. Taj vrijedni vojvođanski književni kritičar, pisac i urednik, svojim dosadašnjim radom ostavio je snažan utjecaj ne samo u hrvatskom, na koje se odnose kritike u ovoj knjizi, već i u čitavom postjugoslavenskom književnom polju. 'Nikada nisam želeo da budem kritičar, posebno ne kada sam završio studije. Nekako se sve desilo spontano, igrom slučaja, gomilom srećnih okolnosti. Pre nego što sam objavio prvi tekst već je postojao Beton i klima u kritici se menjala, sporo ali sigurno. Nisam, dakle, došao niotkuda, niti sam napravio bilo kakav revolucionarni, kopernikanski zaokret. Ono što me učinilo važnim jeste trajanje i upornost. To istovremeno opterećuje i obavezuje. Ali shvatam da bez toga nema ničeg. Sve što na Balkanu traje manje-više nepromenjeno duže od pet godina veliki je poduhvat. Ovde su stvari kratkoročne, a i pamćenje nam je takvo. Samo je taština ogromna. Nje se treba lišavati.'
