Cerebrovaskularna kirurgija jedno je od najzahtjevnijih i najizazovnijih područja neurokirurgije. Poznata je činjenica da neurokirurgiju kao disciplinu mnogi liječnici smatraju kraljicom kirurgije, a time i medicine, pa možemo reći da uspješno kirurško liječenje krvožilnih malformacija u endokraniju predstavlja vrhunac kirurškog umijeća. Područje cerebrovaskularne kirurgije sa svojim pojedinačnim izazovima liječenja kombinacija je klasičnih, provjerenih i učinkovitih kirurških i endovaskularnih postupaka sa stalnom tendencijom iznalaženja i razvijanja poštednijih, sigurnijih i učinkovitijih intervencija. Autorima, koji se više od dva desetljeća bave različitom patologijom krvnih žila mozga, unutar koje dominiraju aneurizme, bila je želja osvrnuti se na dosadašnja iskustva s primjerima iz prakse, te približiti čitatelju suvremene spoznaje o liječenju cerebrovaskularnih bolesti. Osim kirurških pristupa i tehnika, naglasak je na opisu endovaskularnih obliteracijskih postupaka, koji će budućim razvojem tehnologije sasvim sigurno zauzimati sve važnije mjesto, te na ulogu intraoperacijskog neurofiziološkog praćenja bolesnika čija standardna primjena kod svih kirurških postupaka na krvnim žilama mozga pridonosi sigurnijem ishodu naših intervencija. Uz endovaskularnu neurointervenciju, razvoj intraoperacijskog neuromonitoringa još je jedna uzdanica u postizanju što uspješnijih rezultata u liječenju cerebrovaskularnih bolesti na obostrano zadovoljstvo liječnika i bolesnika. Osvrtom na anatomiju, patologiju, potporne i konkretne metode liječenja, knjiga je namijenjena studentima i mladim liječnicima, ali i svima ostalima koje znatiželja odvede u ovo područje.
