Ispripovijedan u obliku unutrašnjeg monologa, gomilanjem kratkih, eliptičnih rečenica, novi roman Krune Čudine "Civilna opasnost" iznosi nam kroniku jednog odnosa između dvoje ljudi - pripovjedača i Hane ("moje žene", kako je pripovjedač naziva) - koji je prožet čestim eskalacijama bijesa, gomilanjem međusobnih optužbi, psihičkim slomovima... Pozadina jaza između to dvoje protagonista postaje razumljivija kroz povremene pripovjedačeve retrospekcije iz kojih saznajemo kako su se u međuvremenu odrekli svojih poslova, prijatelja, ali i vlastitog djeteta, koje su poslali da živi na selu - te da su gotovo opsjednuti samo jednom mišlju: kako će od svoje kuće i vrta načiniti što sigurniju utvrdu koja će ih zaštititi od izvanjskih - civilnih opasnosti. Upravo zbog toga, opravdano se nameće pitanje objektivnosti doživljavanja stvarnosti u kojoj protagonisti romana žive. U tom smislu, misaoni naturalizam i fragmentarnost diskursa koji karakteriziraju autorovo pripovijedanje mogu se promatrati kao odraz otuđenosti suvremenog života i sredstvo za naglašavanje pesimistične vizije svijeta u kojem se kataklizma možda već dogodila, a budućnost počiva na pukom životarenju likova u situaciji koja ne nosi nikakvu nadu u mogućnost promjene, ili pak povratka u stvarnost kakvu su nekoć poznavali i u društvo u kojem su tada živjeli...
