Der slowenische Autor Roman Leljak präsentierte am 19. März 2013 im "Haus der Heimat" sein wissenschaftliches Werk über die nach Kriegsende von Tito-Partisanen an den Deutsch-Untersteirern verübten Massaker und Massenexekutionen in einer sehr berührenden Art und Weise. Leljak, der früher im Sicherheitsdienst der Jugoslawischen Armee stand und heute freischaffend sowohl als Historiker und Schriftsteller als auch als Obmann des "Vereines zur Erforschung der Jüngeren Geschichte" tätig ist, zeigte verschiedenste Daten, Fakten und Hintergrundinformationen sowie schreckliche Einzelschicksale auf, wie sie beispielsweise im Vernichtungslager Teharje (dt. Tüchern) stattgefunden haben. Begleitet wurde Roman Leljak von der Obfrau des Kulturvereins deutschsprachiger Frauen "Brücken" in Marburg (Maribor) und dem Obmann des Kulturvereins Cilli an der Sann, Andrej Ajdič. Leljak untermauerte seine Ausführungen darüber hinaus mit einem schockierendem zehnminütigen Dokumentarfilm aus dem Jahre 2009 über die in den 1990er Jahren begonnene Öffnung des Barbara-Stollens (slow. "Huda jama", dt. "Böse Grube") unweit der Gemeinden Celje (dt. Cilli) bzw. Laško (dt. Tüffer), in welchem tausende Deutsch-Untersteirer nach Kriegsende auf grauenhafte Weise zu Tode kamen. Roman Leljak zeigte aber auch auf, dass heute ebenso etwa 30.000 Slowenen nichts über das Schicksal ihrer Angehörigen wissen, welche ebenfalls grauenhaft, willkürlich und meist grundlos von den Partisanen zu Kriegsende ermordet wurden. "Es ist eine schockierende Konfrontation mit der Geschichte, dennoch ist sie umso wichtiger", ist VLÖ-Generalsekretär Ing. Norbert Kapeller von solchen Buchpräsentationen überzeugt. "Gerade wenn sich slowenische Historiker und Schriftsteller um das Thema des Genozids an den Deutsch-Untersteirern annehmen, bedeutet es Aufarbeitung der geschichtlichen Wahrheit um die kein Volk umherkommt. Wir danken dem Autor Roman Leljak insbesondere dafür, dass er alle Opfergruppen nennt und somit einen persönlichen Beitrag dazu leistet. Nur wenn sich die nachgeborene Generation mit der eigenen Geschichte objektiv auseinander setzt, gelingt Versöhnung - und dafür danken wir dem Autor sehr", betont Generalsekretär Kapeller die Wichtigkeit solcher Zeitdokumente.
