Ova je knjiga nastala kao rezultat bavljenja problematikom Hrvatskoga jezika u srednjim trgovačkim, ekonomskim i upravnim školama s gledišta metodike hrvatskoga jezika. Dijelom je rezultat autorovog angažmana u okviru izrade doktorske disertacije Prilagođenost nastave hrvatskoga jezika učenicima srednjih trgovačkih, ekonomskih i upravnih škola, a dijelom iz njegovih novijih istraživačkih rezultata iz iste znanstvene problematike. U njoj je korišten materijal prikupljen tijekom istraživanja prilagođenosti okvirnoga programa i nastave Hrvatskoga jezika učenicima iz obrazovnoga područja ekonomije, trgovine i poslovne administracije. Knjiga je namijenjena nastavnicima hrvatskoga jezika u srednjim strukovnim školama, studentima kroatistike, ali i budućim priređivačima kurikula, odnosno nastavnoga plana i programa Hrvatskoga jezika te priređivačima udžbenika materinskoga jezika za srednje strukovne škole. Iako se ovo istraživanje bavi problematikom Hrvatskoga jezika u srednjim trgovačkim, ekonomskim i upravnim školama, metodologija i načela uvažavanja specifičnih potreba pojedinih zanimanja mogu se primijeniti na svako obrazovno područje.
