"Drugi ljudi, druge sudbine, a njih je u "Ježenim kožicama" mnogo, dio su Cvijetićeve otkupiteljske arke koja plovi po našim tragedijama i užasima kao orahova ljuska na olujnom moru. Na toj arci Cvijetić pokušava ispisati pojedinačne sudbine, sačuvati od zaborava nemoćne, strijeljane, ubijene i ponižene. Stoji na krmi i gleda kroz mračnu i olujnu noć u kojoj još uvijek bjesni ljudska potreba da uništi drugog čovjeka, noć u kojoj besmisao ratovanja razgara taj siloviti vjetar tjeran opsjenama, mitologiziranjima ili narcisoidnim poremećajima dojučerašnjih naroda - susjeda. Hoće li ta oluja ikad prestati, hoće li se tko spasiti, nije pitanje koje treba postaviti pjesniku, njegove su ruke ionako zauzete, oči su mu pune slika, srce mu je slomljeno, duša iskrzana gelerima. U svemu tome poezija Darka Cvijetića, koliko god bila zasićena smrću, otežala od rasapa, u sebi čuva iskru nade, kao nakon teških bolesti, kad netko ustane iz kreveta i sporo dobaulja do kuhinje da uzme jabuku.
