Alijeva kritika i analiza obuhvaćaju sve segmente Obamine vladavine: njegovu unutarnju politiku, odnosno paket Obaminih financijskih mjera za spas posrnulog američkog gospodarstva, a koje su, tvrdi Ali. išle u korist velikih financijaša i bankara s Wall Streeta. Ništa bolje mišljenje Ali nema ni o sustavu zdravstvene zaštite za koji se zalaže Obama, kao ni o američkoj reformi obrazovanja koja se, prema Alijevu mišljenju, samo nastavlja na Bushovu. Posebno je oštra Alijeva kritika Obamine vanjske politike i američkog „rata protiv terorizma", što podrazumijeva američku okupaciju Iraka, neprestano udovoljavanje izraelskoj politici, slanje još većeg broja vojnih snaga u Afganistan, zračne udare na pakistanskom području i si. Mnogi segmenti Obamine vanjske politike, uvjeren je Ali, poprimili su dramatičnije razmjere nego za Bushove vladavine... Izlažući Obamu nemilosrdnoj kritici, Tariq Ali tvrdi da se, unatoč predsjedničkoj retorici i najavi promjene, Obamina vladavina u Bijeloj kući gotovo nimalo ne razlikuje od one njegova prethodnika...
