Pronicljiva razmišljanja dolgoletnega novinarja Dela in Večera o slovenski medijski krajini, o lastniških prevzemih največjih slovenskih dnevnikov, o pritiskih in vplivih na uredniško in novinarsko delo ter o drugem zakulisnemu dogajanju. Obenem in vzporedno pa osebna zgodba družinskega očeta treh hčera in ljubitelja umetnosti, ki je prehodil pot od urednika Večerove sobotne priloge do gospodinjca. Nekakšna konzerva s koščki časa. Od časa do časa pogledamo nazaj, na prehojeno pot. Ko je to naredil Dejan Pušenjak, vse življenje novinar in urednik Katedra, Večer, Delo), je nastal kolektivni roman o nas, nelinearna zgodba o času, odprti sef s spomini. Skozi pripoved o enem tednu v septembru 2016 nabiramo fragmente in se pomikamo v času nazaj in naprej, po Mariboru, Ljubljani in New Yorku, od časopisov k štedilniku in vrtcu, od frajgajstov, hipijev in genijev do slabih šefov, pospremljeni v glavnem z rokenrolom pa tudi s starejšimi popevkami. Avtor se vseskozi hvali z zlatim novinarskim pravilom »bil sem tam«. Pripoveduje o ljudeh in rečeh, ki jih je gledal od blizu, vendar z neprestanim zavedanjem, da je čisto vsak naš stavek sestavljen iz misli, torej izmišljen.
