Fondacija Alija Izetbegović je objavila knjigu „Robije Alije Izetbegovića (prilog za biografiju)“ autora Fikreta Muslimovića i Mustafe Spahića. Knjiga nastoji objasniti kontekst i hapšenje Izetbegovića 1946. i 1983, način kako su pripremljena hapšenja i sudski proces i kako su o tome izvještavali mediji. Autori donose i brojna pisma koja su od 1983. do 1988. razmjenivali članovi porodice sa Alijom Izetbegovićem, kako i naglasili toplinu porodičnog života. Knjiga sadrži niz depeša tajne policije (i neposredno nakon rata 1945-1946. i iz 1980-ih godina), iz kojih se vide načini na koje je služba pratila Izetbegovića i kako je pripremila njegovo hapšenje i suđenje. Autori opširnim citiranjem Izetbegovićevih stavova, najviše iz njegovih sjećanja, nastoje pokazati Izetbegovićevo razumijevanje slobode i njegove ključne ideje. U posljednjem dijelu knjige pažnja je posvećena i Izebegovićevoj porodici (sinu, kćerkama i zetovima) i njihovom odnosu prema ocu.
