Sandrina životna priča daleko nadmašuje granice sporta i kapilarno se širi u sve pore života. Sport joj je pomogao u oblikovanju, ali vjerujem da bi i bez njega, u svemu čime bi se bavila, bazično bila ista »lavica« koja život smatra upornom i beskompromisnom borbom za ostvarenje zadanih ciljeva. Neko je vrijeme živjela u stolnoteniskom raju, nezaustavljivo putujući prema zvjezdanim trenutcima svoje karijere, a onda se, u samo djeliću sekunde, sunovratila u pakao prometne nesreće iz kojeg se uzdigla na zaprepaštenje čak i liječnika koji su se borili za njezin život, ne vjerujući da će ikad - preživi li - stati na svoje noge. Četiri godine poslije, na Para-olimpijskim igrama u Rio de Janeiru, stojeći na svojim nogama, osvojila je zlatnu medalju, poklonivši je domovini Hrvatskoj i svim dobrim ljudima koji su joj cijelo vrijeme pružali zdušnu potporu i svojim dobrotvorstvom pomagali da ponovno zakorači u život. Sandra je nacionalna heroina, s odavno osiguranim mjestom među sportskim velikanima i trajno nadahnuće naraštajima kojima su potrebni uzori i primjeri nepokolebljive vjere u život.
