Od autorice popularne Povijesti pčela, Maje Lunde, dolazi nam najljepša ovogodišnja božićna priča Snježna sestra. Bliži se Badnjak, dan kada Kristian slavi jedanaesti rođendan. To je za njega dosad uvijek bio najbolji dan u godini, ispunjen mirisom paprenjaka, mandarina i okićenoga božićnog drvca, pucketanjem vatre u kaminu i treperenjem svijeća na svečano urešenom blagdanskom stolu. Sve su to stvari koje čine Božić i zato im se Kristian svake godine silno veselio, no ove godine ništa nije kao obično. Kristian i njegova obitelj oplakuju smrt njegove starije sestre, koja je umrla tog ljeta te se čini da je u njegovoj obitelji ovaj put Božić otkazan. A onda Kristian susreće veselu djevojčicu Hedvigu, koja nestrpljivo iščekuje Božić, i počinje vjerovati da nije sve izgubljeno. No nešto je čudno u vezi s Hedviginom kućom. I tko je starac koji se šulja oko njezine kuće?
