About the Book

Ivan Berislav Vodopija (1942), kroatist i komparativist, iako je svoj rad posvetio knjižarstvu (pa i danas slovi kao jedan od najvećih znalaca o knjigama s područja književnosti i umjetnosti), nikada nije napustio pisanje. Prvim tekstovima javlja se u književnim časopisima 70-ih, ali posao kojim se tada počeo baviti zahtijevao je ovladavanje novom strukom i drukčijim vještinama. Iz tog su vremena poznati mnogi njegovi uspješno ostvareni projekti, među kojima izdvajamo samo da je, u zajedništvu s Antoanetu Pasinović bio inicijatorom projekta za oživljavanje i uređenje Tkalčićeve ulice te danas već kultni autorski izlog u knjižari August Šenoa u Zvonimirovoj (koja je u novije vrijeme nestala s kulturne zagrebačku scene zajedno s mnogim drugim knjižarama (poput onih u Ilici 7 i 30 te na Preradovićevu trgu), a sve u interesu privatnog profita. Potkraj 80-ih otvara prvi privatni antikvarijat i tom je poslu do danas ostao vjeran. Pjesme objavljene u ovoj zbirci nastale su u posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća i odreda su odgovor na vrijeme u kojem živimo, kojeg prepoznajemo u svim njegovim »krvavim« pojavnostima, ali mu svedeno nikada ne predajemo svoje »živo srce«, što potvrđuje i najnovija autorova knjiga lirskih proza »Mrtva priroda i živo srce«.
