Stela Jelinčić je 2008. godine objavila "Korov je samo biljka na krivom mjestu", roman o generaciji koja je raspadom ex-Jugoslavije izgubila ono što još nije bila niti iskusila - normalno odrastanje i ulazak u život. Slično kao što je Rujana Jeger u romanu "Darkroom" (2001), opisala identično "mjesto i vrijeme" ali iz perspektive tada desetak godina starijih protagonista "radnje", tako i Stela Jelinčić spisateljski iznimno zrelo ispisuje svoju ritmičnu (post)tranzicijsku prozu iz života likova koji su ne svojom krivnjom odrastali u za njih jedino moguće vrijeme, ali na pogrešnom mjestu. Njezina nova knjiga "Dnevnici i noćnici" su pozamašna knjiga, pomalo raspršene strukture, koju čini mix kratkih proznih zapisa, kao i novinskih tekstova, reportaža i intervjua objavljivanih u tjedniku Globus (manje) i mjesečniku Plan B (više). Odabir njezinih brojnih sugovornika nije slučajan, dobro odražava prostor & vrijeme, jer Jelinčić razgovara s čitavim nizom mahom mlađih aktera hrvatske i regionalne umjetničke i društvene scene, i upravo su ti razgovori i najzanimljiviji dio knjige. Naime, Stela Jelinčić sa svojim sugovornicima intervjue radi u živo, na starinski način tj. ne radi ih preko maila već razgovore skida s diktafona. Često samom razgovoru, izmjeni pitanja i odgovora, prethodi podugačak uvod kojim Stela Jelinčić "opušta", priprema čitatelja za razgovor, u kojem je kasnije "ravnopravna" svojim sugovornicima, a ponekad i brbljavija od njih.
