Druga Analitika predstavlja Aristotelov pokušaj objašnjenja onoga što on naziva epistēmē, a što se hrvatski može primjereno prevesti i kao »znanje« i kao »znanost«. Iako su, počevši od novoga vijeka, filozofi i znanstvenici dovodili u pitanje primjerenost i upotrebljivost Aristotelova shvaćanja znanja i znanosti, suvremena istraživanja Druge Analitike pokazuju da je ono puno složenije i zanimljivije nego što se u prošlosti često pretpostavljalo. Podrobna analiza niza kako za filozofiju tako i za znanost ključnih pojmova kao što su uzrok, objašnjenje, definicija, demonstracija itd. te njihovo sustavno uklapanje u vlastitu novootkrivenu teoriju silogizma kako ju je razvio u Prvoj Analitici čine ovo djelo iznimno relevantnim i poticajnim i u okvirima današnjih teoretskih rasprava. Ovo izdanje Druge Analitike s hrvatskim prijevodom, uvodom i komentarom Filipa Grgića nastavak je njegova dugogodišnjeg rada na Aristotelovoj filozofiji, iz kojega su uz niz članaka u Hrvatskoj i inozemstvu proizašli i prijevod Aristotelovih Kategorija s komentarom (1992) te knjige Aristotel o istinitosti i lažnosti (1993) i Aristotel o nužnosti i slučaju (1997). Osim toga, priredio je zbirku rasprava Aristotelova Metafizika (s P. Gregorićem, 2003), kao i prijevod i komentar Metafizike Aristotelova učenika Teofrasta (2011).
