Knjiga je u vrlo dobrom stanju. Knjiga se sastoji iz dva dijela. Prvi uvodni dio donosi opis povijesnih prilika presudnih za formiranje splitskoga dijalekta, zatim razradu metodološkog pristupa u izradi glosara te rezultate ankete. Drugi dio sadrži glosar koji bilježi 467 pojmova splitskoga dijalekta određenih romanskim podrijetlom te pripadnošću semantičkom polju kuhinjske i kulinarske terminologije. Pojmovi su poredani abecednim slijedom. Svaki je pojam naglašen i označen odgovarajućom gramatičkom odrednicom (genitiv jednine ili množine i gramatički rod te, kad je riječ o množini, broj) iza koje slijedi književni sinonim ili definicija značenja, te, kad je riječ o pripadnicima biljnog ili životinjskog svijeta, latinski naziv. Zatim slijedi etimološki opis u kojem autorice uz podrijetlo pojma navode i odgovarajuće rječnike romanskih jezika ili dijalekata te dijalekatske rječnike splitske regije koji ga bilježe. Članak zaključuju situacijskim kontekstom koji dotični pojam smješta u usta govornika, nažalost, uglavnom onih starijih, budući da je danas splitski dijalekt sve siromašniji dijalektalizmima romanskog podrijetla. Cilj je, dakle, ovoga glosara jasan: zabilježiti kuhinjske i kulinarske termine romanskog podrijetla u splitskome dijalektu, ukazati na njihovu povijesnu i tradicijsku vrijednost i sačuvati ih od potpunog zaborava.
