Ovo je prvi udžbenik za učenje hebrejskog jezika ikada napisan za hrvatsko govorno područje, a priredio ga je sveučilišni profesor koji je trideset i pet godina predavao hebrejski jezik na Katoličkom bogoslovnom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Splitu. Gramatika donosi jednostavna prvotna pravila hebrejskoga jezika koja tvore temelj za uznapredovali studij kasnije. Cilj je ove gramatike da nastavnicima i studentima hebrejskoga jezika, te svima koje taj jezik zanima, pruži pregledni i razumljivi udžbenik za hebrejski biblijski jezik. Ona ne može i ne želi nadomjestiti obuhvatne znanstvene gramatike, nego se shvaća kao osnovni udžbenik, koji bi želio posredovati jasnu i pouzdanu orijentaciju u temeljnim strukturama hebrejskog jezika i potaknuti na daljnji samostalni rad. Pod tim osnovama hebrejskog jezika podrazumijeva se poglavito hebrejsko pismo, glavna gramatička pravila koja ukazuju na posebnu strukturu jezika i, dakako, ovladavanje određenim fondom hebrejskih riječi. Vježbe koje prate svako poglavlje rasvijetljuju točke gramatike koje se obrađuju, ali i uključuju veliki dio obrađenoga gradiva, tako da student višekratnim ponavljanjem ovlada njime. U drugoj polovini knjige vježbe sadrže izabrane narativne i poetske ulomke iz hebrejske Biblije.
