Otkako je Winston Churchill popularizirao frazu "crni pas" kako bi opisao paklene napadaje depresije koju je trpio velik dio svog života, ona je postala uobičajena slika za bolest od koje pate milijuni ljudi, često u sramoti i tišini. Imao sam Crnog Psa je prosvjetljujući, dirljiv i nadahnut uvid u život s depresijom, ali i snažna poruka da Crnog Psa unutarnjom snagom i uz podršku možemo pripitomiti. On može biti strašna zvijer, ali da bismo napravili prvi korak prema oporavku moramo ga najprije pustiti van. Otkrio sam da postoji mnogo različitih vrsta Crnih Pasa kod milijuna najrazličitijih ljudi. Crni Pas je mješanac koji ne bira. Autor Matthew Johnstone i sam se dugo borio s depresijom, a ovu je knjigu napisao i ilustrirao s puno duha i hrabrosti te je neprocjenjivo štivo za svakog tko se ikada susreo s Crnim Psom ili poznaje nekog s tim iskustvom.
