Mitch Albom je napisao nekoliko svjetskih bestselera u kojima je kroz toplu ljudsku priču progovorio o najvažnijim životnim pitanjima. “Ipak vjeruj” započinje jednom čudnom molbom. Rabin Albert Lewis zamoli autora da održi njegov posmrtni govor. Rabin nije na samrti, nije ni bolestan, no svejedno inzistira da se upoznaju i zbliže kako bi mogao održati što vjerodostojniji govor. Njihovo druženje traje osam godina, a isprepleteno je iskrenim i nadahnutim razgovorima o Bogu, odnosu prema religiji, životu, dužnosti prema zajednici… Svi susreti i razgovori su istiniti, iako je vremenski slijed na nekoliko mjesta zgusnut za potrebe priče pa je, primjerice, razgovor vođen u listopadu jedne godine, naveden u studenom sljedeće godine. Također, iako ova knjiga govori o vjeri, autor ne tvrdi da je stručnjak za religiju, a ovo nije vodič za određeno vjerovanje. Štoviše, knjiga je napisana u nadi da sve vjere mogu pronaći nešto univerzalno u njezinoj priči. Pretpostavka je da svi iskreni i autentični vjernici imaju više sličnosti nego različitosti, a ova knjiga slavi autentičnu vjeru!
