Knjiga dr. sc. Ivana Macuta „Katolička Crkva i suvremeni ekumenski pokret“ nastavak je prethodne knjige o ekumenizmu istoga autora „Suvremeni ekumenski pokret - svjetske konferencije (1910. - 2013.)“ objavljene 2017. godine u izdanju Glasa Koncila. Autor ovog opsežnog djela pokazao je duboko poznavanje postavljene problematike te precizno, skladno i temeljito obradio razvoj ekumenizma u Katoličkoj Crkvi te je izvrsno metodološki i znanstveno zaokružio cijelu postavljenu problematiku. Zdrava znanstvena kritika i stručno predstavljanje postavljenih teza, potkrepljenih vrijednim izvorima i literaturom, obogaćuje hrvatsku teološku znanost novim pogledom na povijesnost, ali i sadašnjost ekumenizma u Crkvi. Doc. dr. sc. Daniel Patafta Knjiga Ivana Macuta uistinu je znanstveno djelo koje je napisano na temelju izvora i literature. Svaka stavaka u knjizi jasno je izražena. Svaka rečenica doprinosi razvoju teme. Izbor riječi autor je upotrijebio prikladno, ton je akademski. Rukopis je jedinstven. Bilješke i naslovi ispravno su doneseni te logički podijeljeni. Prof. dr. sc. Jure Brkan Ova knjiga obogaćenje je ekumenske literature na hrvatskom jeziku tim više što autor spominje mnoge dokumente koje nemamo niti prevedene niti predstavljene hrvatskom čitateljstvu. Uz to, autor se također poziva i na dokumente koji su prevedeni i predstavljeni na hrvatskom jeziku od strane naših teologa. Vidljivo je, također, da se autor služi relevantnom domaćom i stranom literaturom te da je s obzirom na istraženu literaturu zadanoj temi pristupio ozbiljno i svoje istraživanje izložio na jasan i razumljiv način.
