Hrana ljude čini sretnima. One koji su se okupili oko stola, očekujući mirisan i slastan objed koji je netko drugi pripremio, ali i one koji spretno i vješto pretvaraju hrpu namirnica u očaravajuću kombinaciju okusa osobito raduje atmosfera koja nastaje oko ukusno pripremljene hrane. Oko Damirina se stola godinama okupljalo veselo društvo zadivljeno njezinom vještinom te se iz tog iskustva rodila ideja za ovu kuharicu. A ideja je bila da današnji mladi ljudi nemaju mnogo vremena za pripremu jela i da žele jesti zdravu i ukusnu hranu koju su sami pripremili. Stoga je autorica odabrala jednostavne recepte koji se kuhaju najviše jedan sat, napisala jasne upute, u uvodnim tekstovima objasnila standardne i bolje načine pripreme određenih namirnica, rižota ili tjestenine primjerice, začinjanja salata ili mariniranja namirnica. I nastala je ova domaća kuharica, moderna i mediteranska, s ponekim kulinarskim utjecajem iz mjesta u kojima je autorica živjela. U osnovi to su zdrava i lako spravljiva jela u kojima ćete uživati, bez obzira radite li ih samo za sebe, za drage ukućane ili za vesele goste. A poslije ćete svi skupa prste lizati.
