Hanne Orstavik (1969.) jedno je od najzvučnijih imena novije norveške i skandinavske književnosti. Potječe sa sjevera zemlje, ali od svoje šesnaeste godine živi u Oslu. Dosad je objavila deset romana. Prijelomni trenutak u njenom stvaralaštvu dogodio se 1997. kada objavljuje roman ljubav, po mnogima jedno od najzanimljivijih i najboljih djela moderne norveške književnosti. Kroz priču o majci i sinu koji su se tek doselili u malo mjesto na sjeveru zemlje, ova suvremena norveška autorica govori o problemu otuđenosti te potrebi za toplinom i ljubavi. Vješto komponiran, jezično siguran, roman je dirljiva i angažirajuća pripovijest koja se događa dan prije sinovljevog devetog rođendana, u nekoliko sati jedne hladne zimske večeri i noći. Hanna 0rstavik po mnogima je jedno od najznačajnijih imena novije norveške i skandinavske književnosti, kao što je i "Ljubav" svrstana u red najzanimljivijih i najboljih djela moderne norveške književnosti. Za prozno kazivanje spomenute autorice, koje je uglavnom zaokupljeno obiteljskom problematikom, kao i fenomenom kazivačkoga jezika te njegovih mogućnosti, običava se reći kako ona svojim jezikom gradi stvarnost te da se po tome najviše razlikuje od većine svojih suvremenika.
