Kanadska autorica prikazuje ruševine svijeta koji je uništila namjerno oslobođena biotehnološki stvorena pošast, a u tim je ruševinama tek šačica preživjelih. Među njima je i Toby, nekoć pčelarica i članica miroljubiva zelenog pokreta otpora Božjih vrtlara. Toby se ponovno susreće sa svojom velikom neuzvraćenom ljubavlju Zebom, bivšim bioteroristom Ludih Adamita. Na zahtjev Koščića, dobroćudnih humanoida koji su stvoreni da zamijene ljudski rod, Toby pripovijeda priče o prošlosti ljudske vrste. Pametni mutanti, svinjoni, stalna su prijetnja Koščićima, a urotu kuju i bivši zatvorenici, nasilnici i silovatelji loptobolesnici. Roman osvaja jedinstvenim spojem akcije, humora i satire, romanse i mašte. Ali tjera i na razmišljanje.
