Sidžili su osmanske sudsko-notarske knjige u koje su kadije ili njihovi zamjenici zavodili sva dokumenta nastala kao rezultat njihove redovne sudske aktivnosti. U sidžile su također upisivali i akta koja im je slala centralna provincijska vlast, tako da u osmanskim sudskim protokolima nalazimo raznovrsna dokuneta: o imenovanju državnih službenika, o sakupljanju poreza, zakupu, pozajmicama, vjenčanjima i razvodima, kopoprodajne ugovore, sudske presude, zavještanja i drugo. Sidžili spadaju u prvorazredne historijske izvore, i nezaobilazni su kada je riječ o društvenoj i privrednoj historiji jednog kadiluka i šire, jer sadrže dokumenta koja se odnose na ejalet i državu u cjelini. Originali maglajskih sidžila se nalaze u arhivi Bošnjačkog instituta, poklon Alije Širbegovića. Izdanje „Maglajski sidžili“ su prevele sa osmanskog turskog i priredile pokojna dr. Dušanka Bojanić-Lukač i mr. Tatjana Katić (stručne saradnice Istorijskog instituta u Beogradu). U ovom izdanju su dati u prijevodu na bosanski, klasifikovani u tri velike cjeline (Cirkularna akta, Akta Bosanskog ejaleta, Dokumenta maglajskog kadiluka) od kojih je svaka podijeljena na manje tematske podgrupe, zatim slijede faksimili originalnih dokumenata, i u trećem dijelu knjige latinična transkripcija teksta svih dokumenata. Ovako kompletno izdanje čini maglajske sidžile dostupne i domaćim i stranim istraživačima, kao i široj publici.
