Daniela Dose je talijanska profesorica književnosti koja u lokalnoj biblioteci već godinama vodi projekt pod nazivom Matilda, hoćeš li mi ispričati jednu priču namijenjen razvijanju ljubavi prema knjizi i sticanju navike i vještine čitanja kod djece i mladih. Vodeći taj projekt i sama je počela pisati i objavljivati vlastite bajke i priče za djecu, kakva je i ova, njena prva prevedena na bosanski jezik. Riječ je o veoma toploj priči o djevojčici Matildi, koja s majkom posjećuje biblioteku u potrazi za starim bakinim receptom za kolač od jabuka. Tražeći stare knjige u kojima bi mogao biti zapisan recept, pred radoznalom djevojčicom se otkrivaju fantastične tajne koje u svojim policama skriva biblioteka. Knjiga koja na veoma lijep način predstavlja biblioteku kao važnu kulturnu instituciju i kao lijepo, zanimljivo i edukativno mjesto, poželjno za što češće posjećivanje i što duži boravak.
