Uži fokus analize i interpretacije autorica je stavila na brodogradnju, koja je izrazito često, na domaćem terenu, uvjetovala, podupirala i definirala modernizacijske procese ne samo vlastitih postrojenja već i širih urbanih cjelina u koje je bila smještena. Stoga ništa drugačiji nije bio ni odnos Rijeke s jednim od najvećih hrvatskih brodogradilišta 3. majem, a autorica dvoznačan i nerijetko bremenit odnos “brodogradilišta sa samim sobom” i “brodogradilišta i Rijeke” bilježi u ključu “relacijskog mišljenja” u antropologiji. Rakurs iz kojega je ovaj rukopis pisan uvelike koincidira s pitanjima i mogućim rješenjima koja su specifična za “organizacijske znanosti”, ali ih postavlja i prevodi u širi antropološki i humanistički kontekst i terminologiju.
