V pričujoči knjigi nam Feri Lainšček ponuja deset pravljic, ki ne skrivajo svoje očaranosti z izročilom ljudskih pravljic. Za tak navdih se mora zahvaliti pripovedovalcem iz zgodnjega otroštva, ki so ga s svojo živo govorico popeljali v mnoga pravljična kraljestva in mu pokazali svetove, ki jih marsikatere oči žal ne morejo nikoli videti. Še posebej je hvaležen očetu Štefanu in mami Tereziji, ki sta bila oba sijajna pripovedovalca. Vsaj deloma so te pravljice seveda tudi rezultat njegove kasnejše povsem literarne obravnave ljudske motivike. Pogostoma je namreč prisluhnil sporočilom iz preteklosti in se skušal poučiti z modrostjo prednikov, ki je prečiščena in obrušena postopoma prehajala v kolektivno nezavedno. Ob snovanju ga je tokrat še posebej vznemirjala tista pravljična govorica, ki omogoča silovito stilizacijo resničnosti, s tem pa seveda tudi zgoščenost značajev in dogajanja. Zato res upa, da mu je uspelo pred oči tvoje duše postaviti junake, ki mu jih ni treba zagovarjati z bohotnimi opisi, saj te lahko prepričajo s svojimi dejanji. Leta 2001 so Mislice prejele nagrado VEČERNICA za najboljše slovensko mladinsko literarno delo.
