Aleksej Gotthardi Pavlovsky, istražujući i analizirajući razloge popularnosti dotične glazbe u Hrvatskoj i predstavljajući pritom i njezin nastanak i razvoj na izvorištu, u Srbiji i BiH, zaključuje kako su zapravo »zatucani« svi - jednostavno zato jer se više nitko ne može izmaći djelovanju i principima funkcioniranja popularne kulture, koja nas svakodnevno bombardira komercijalnim sadržajima i koji su zbog toga postali sastavnim dijelom naših života. Autor se u knjizi Narodnjaci i turbofolk u Hrvatskoj poslužio etnološkom metodom kvalitativnih intervjua s velikim brojem kazivača - konzumenata različite dobi, spola i društvenog položaja, glazbenih izvođača i autora, menadžera, ugostitelja, urednika diskografskih kuća, glazbenih kritičara, novinara, radijskih i TV urednika. Predstavljajući i analizirajući na taj način prikupljenu građu, stavlja je u odnos s antropološkom, (etno)muzikološkom i publicističkom literaturom koja se bavi istim fenomenom, odnosno načinima i procesima funkcioniranja popularne kulture. Temeljem toga zaključuje da »narodnjaci«/turbofolk u potpunosti funkcioniraju prema dotičnim principima, upravo kao i sva ostala komercijalna/popularna glazba Hrvatske, Europe ili svijeta, u čemu (oduvijek) i leži glavni razlog njihove popularnosti.
