Mladi geograf Marin Sabolović rođen je 1989. godine u Zagrebu, a sada je doktorand iz geografije na Sveučilištu u Zadru. Njegovo bogato ilustrirano djelo prati nastanak i razvoj odora i znakovlja hrvatskih oružanih formacija te vojnih odličja, kronološki prateći raspad Jugoslavije, agresiju na Republiku Hrvatsku, međunarodno priznanje te stvaranje oružanih snaga samostalne Hrvatske. Svim ljubiteljima hrvatske, ali i opće vojne povijesti ova knjiga pruža vrlo detaljan prikaz, tumačenje i komentar hrvatskoga odoroslovlja od stvaranja Republike Hrvatske do kraja Domovinskoga rata. Vizualni identitet Oružanih snaga Republike Hrvatske ni nakon više od 20 godina nije baš bio predmetom sustavnoga proučavanja suvremene vojne povijesti. U prvom su planu bili napori znanstvenika koji su proučavali uzroke, tijek i posljedice obrambenoga Domovinskog rata, a vizualni je identitet nekako ostajao po strani. Ova knjiga Marina Sabolovića to donekle ispravlja. Brojnim prikupljenim podacima, kao i velikim brojem vrijednih ilustracija, autor je dao izvorni i zaokruženi doprinos poznavanju nastanka, značajki odora i znakovlja hrvatske policije i vojske od 1990. do 1996. godine. Nadamo se da će ova knjiga svojom temom te bogatim i zanimljivim ilustracijama zanimati povjesničare, kao i širu javnost.
