O knjizi Ova je knjiga jedan od temeljnih tekstova Vijeća Europe na temu interkulturalnog odgoja i obrazovanja i multikulturalnog društva. Riječ je o temi koja je posljednjih godina došla u središte interesa mnogih pedagoških djelatnika koji nastoje promovirati građanski odgoj i razvoj demokratskih vrijednosti u društvu putem odgoja i obrazovanja. U knjizi se navode razlozi ukorist interkulturalnog obrazovanja, sadržaj koji bi se takvim odgojem i obrazovanjem valjalo prenijeti (znanja, sposobnosti i vrednote) kako bi se svu djecu uključilo u pluralno društvo gdje žive – tako da im se ponudi nova koncepcija povijesti, zemljopisa, jezika kulture, filozofije čovjeka i društva, a time i psihologije i etike. Namjena knjige Tema interkulturalnog odgoja i obrazovanja tiče se svih pedagoških djelatnika, bez obzira rade li u vrtiću, školi ili na sveučilištu. Knjiga je vrijedan tekst učiteljima i nastavnicima koji poučavaju građanski odgoj. O autoru Antonio Perotti autor je brojnih studija o interkulturalnom odgoju i obrazovanju. Njegov je rad uvelike vezan za projekte i programe Vijeća za kulturnu suradnju Vijeća Europe.
