Autor donosi prikaz marijanske duhovnosti ne vodeći se toliko znanstvenim kriterijima, već materiju iznosi više na obavijestan način jer mu je nakana da prosječni kršćanski vjernik ovu knjigu može koristiti kao priručnik za svoj duhovni život. Knjiga je zamišljena i kao praktični priručnik za razmatranje pojedinih cjelina (bilo za pojedinca ili skupine), te na kraju svake cjeline donosi kratke poticaje za osobno razmišljanje. U tom smislu ona odražava uvriježenu pastoralnu praksu u Italiji. Na određeni način knjiga je i odgovor na poticaj, sada svetog, pape Ivana Pavla II. koji je i sam živio posvetu Isusu Kristu po Mariji, te poticao monfortanske redovničke obitelji da čine sve kako duhovno blago posvete koje su baštinile od svojega utemeljitelja ne bi ostalo skriveno, nego poznato i plodonosno. Sveti Ivan Pavao II. za svoje geslo uzeo je upravo Monfortovu rečenicu posvete ili, moglo bi se reći, predanja: „Totus tuus - Sav Tvoj“, koja se odnosi na Blaženu Djevicu Mariju. Knjigu su suizdali Družba Marijinih misionara - monfortanci i Kršćanska sadašnjost.
