Nakon „Povijesti patrističke filozofije“ koju smo objavili 2009. godine, ovo djelo vodećih talijanskih profesora povijesti srednjovjekovne misli logičan je, sveobuhvatan i dobrodošao nastavak prikaza filozofske misli impregnirane kršćanstvom. Ovo djelo popunjava prazninu koja se na hrvatskome jezičnom području već dugo osjeća u poznavanju srednjovjekovne misli.
