Ovim rukopisom Esad Duraković je još jednom pokazao sve odlike vrsnog stručnjaka za književnost, stilistiku, orijentalno-islamsku kulturu, angažiranog borca protiv etnocentrizma i orijentalizma i plodnog prevodioca i znanstvenika. Mada je po svom obrazovanju prije svega orijentalista, Duraković u svojim radovima nadilazi okvire jedne discipline i uvodi bosansko-hercegovačku orijentalistiku u najsavremenije tokove nauke o književnosti. U ovim radovima autor podastire niz dragocjenih informacija i podataka, ali i lucidnih interpretacija o arapskoj poeziji XX stoljeća, palestinskoj poeziji otpora, poeziji Halila Džubrana, te romanima Tahe Huseina i Ibrahima Džebre. UNESCO-va nagrada Sharjah 2003. godine za najboljeg svjetskog arabistu pripala je Esadu Durakoviću.
