“Drvodjelja sam s položenim majstorskim ispitom, ono što većina naziva stolarom. Najradije bih bio iskren i izravan i rekao sve što vidim, i dobro i loše. Živim od pravljenja prolaznih stvari koje se mogu zamijeniti drugima. Teorija je za mene nešto što prevodim u slike gotovih radova. Brojim vijke, čavle i metre materijala, brojim sate. Arhitekt ima možda dvadeset-trideset ovakvih poslova za vrijeme koje je meni potrebno da izgradim ono što je nacrtao. Vjerujem da ja ulažem više svoje duše u to jedno uređenje potkrovlja nego on. Znojit ću se, uprljati, udariti, porezati i smrzavati radeći ga. Novac je važan u ovoj priči, ali kao i uvijek, manje je važan kad ne predstavlja problem. Volim kad mi klijenti kažu ono što papiri ne govore, da im je drago što smo došli i uredili im potkrovlje. Glasovi su im sada sretni.
