Rak dojke u svijetu i kod nas jedan je od većih zdrastvenih problema. Ova bolest najčešće je zloćudna bolest žena i najčešći uzrok smrti žena uopće u dobi od 40 do 50 godina. Posljednjih je godina u Republici Hrvatskoj incidencija raka dojke izrazito porasla s prijašnjih 1500 na više od 2100 novooboljelih slučajeva na godinu što je alarmantan podatak. U ovom priručniku pristupačno je opisana tehnika samopregleda, a ona svojom porukom izrazito potiče svijest žena i naglašava potrebu redovitosti samopregleda i ostalih pregleda poštujući u svijetu priznate standarde i principe. Autori knjige već se dugo godina uspješno bave problematikom raka dojke naglašavajući upravo preventivne pristupe, podizanje razine znanja i svjesnosti žena te edukaciju za samopregled, a u knjizi je predstavljena i kratka poduka o suvremenim mogućnostima dijagnostike i liječenja raka dojke.
