Antologiju "Sretan je tko može voljeti", mogli bismo nazvati i Hesse o ljubavi. Ova nadahnuta knjiga nije složena kao niska medaljona, kao knjiga o ljubavi opisanoj u knjigama Hermanna Hessea, već je pratila lijepu meandrirajuću crtu koja opisuje veće ili manje ljubavi, koja se zaplete u pjesmu i ne završava aforizmom. Ostaje tako u prvim tek slutnjama, razvija se u stanje očitovano u krajoliku, u socijalnoj priči naučnika u predgrađu pa sve do nestanka individualnosti u parfemu balova, te se doima kao da trubaduri još uvijek stanuju pokraj nas. Ovoj je knjizi namjera da nas uvede u Hesseova djela, i da čitajući je nakon što smo ga već upoznali, ponovno za njim posegnemo podsjećajući se i nadopunjujući svoj pogled na ovog nobelovca. Ili da je čitamo zbog ljubavi, pa onda i iz ljubavi a možda se zato Hesse uopće i čita. "Svi ti odgovori izlaze na isto: život poprima smisao jedino Ljubavlju.
