Roman “Starački dom za maloljetnu delinkvenciju” spada pod žanr humoristične drame. Kroz neobične, zabavne, ponekad kaotične situacije, doživljaje i iskustva likova romana progovara o temi koja je zapravo vrlo ozbiljna. Ekipa Gerile iz Idile uporno se odupire pravilima dosadne kolotečine života u domu. Prisjećajući se davno prošle mladosti upuštaju se u prkosne pothvate kako bi svakodnevnu rutinu učinili smislenijom jer smatraju da i u smiraj života imaju pravo na sreću i smijeh. Roman govori o običnim ljudima koji su čitav životni vijek proveli u borbi za preživljavanje, u žrtvovanju za svoje obitelji, odgajanju djece stavljajući sebe uvijek na zadnje mjesto. Sada kada je ta borba iza njih, a njihova se odrasla djeca bore u istom grotlu života koji su oni prošli, našli su se u staračkom domu. No, umjesto da uživaju u mirnoj starosti, odbijaju pokoriti se i na zgražanje okoline, počevši od vlasnice i voditeljice staračkog doma nazvanog Idila pa do svoje djece i unučadi, odlučuju ono malo vremena koje im je preostalo na ovome svijetu provesti onako kako misle da zaslužuju. Iako se radi o komediji, roman kroz humor zapravo govori o ozbiljnoj i donekle kontradiktornoj temi, koja s vremenom čeka svakoga od nas.
