Godina 1984. Cléo, trinaestogodišnja djevojčica koja živi u skromnim prilikama sa svojim roditeljima u pariškom predgrađu, jednoga dana od neke sumnjive Fondacije dobiva ponudu da se prijavi za stipendiju koja će joj omogućiti da ostvari svoj najveći san: postati plesačicom modern jazza. Međutim, zapravo se radi o namještenoj klopki seksualnih predatora u koju Cléo uvlači i neke svoje školske prijateljice. Godine 2019. policija na Internetu pronalazi seriju kompromitirajućih fotografija i poziva sve žrtve Fondacije da se jave i daju iskaz. Cléo, koja je u međuvremenu postala slavnom plesačicom, shvaća da se prošlost koja nije prošla ponovno vraća i da je vrijeme da se suoči sa svojim dvostrukim teretom žrtve i krivca. Roman Chavirer/Sunovrat prati različite etape njezine sudbine iz očišta onih koji su je poznavali dok se njezina osobnost prelama i ponovno po volji sastavlja u sliku naših mutantskih identiteta i misterija koji njima vladaju. Uz bespoštedno razotkrivanje sustava predatorstva uvjetovana društveno-rasnim podjelama, Lola Lafon u svojemu romanu govori o nemogućnosti oprosta, ali odaje i hommage svijetu varijetea u kojem su obvezni zgrčen smiješak i lažne trepavice, između erotizirana i ispaćena tijela, čari pozornice i kulisa patnji i bola.
