Djevojčica Vera prvi put u životu odlazi u knjižnicu - mjesto koje bi svako dijete trebalo zavoljeti i prije odlaska u školu. Iznenađena je što se tamo ne nudi hrana, nego KNJIGE. Priču o Veri - koju je napisala knjižničarka s velikim iskustvom u radu s djecom, Davorka Premec - prate zabavne ilustracije Vande Čižmek i na duhovit način opisuju knjižnicu kao sretno mjesto za svu djecu. Knjiga je namijenjena djeci vrtićke i ranije školske dobi. Na 22 stranice priče nalazi se upravo onoliko teksta koliko djeca navedene dobi mogu pratiti bez problema. Na kraju knjige, poslije priče, nalazi se Verin dodatak “Vjerovali ili ne!” u kojemu se na jednostavan način opisuju osnovni pojmovi vezani uz knjižnicu. Slikovnica Vera među knjigama sadrži 12 duhovitih ilustracija Vande Čižmek, svaka se proteže preko dvije stranice. Autorica, Davorka Semenić Premec, radi cijeli radni vijek u KGZ, od toga veći dio na odjelu za djecu. Svake godine predškolska djeca dolaze joj na upoznavanje s knjižnicom. Članica je Hrvatskog čitalačkog društva te provodi razne programe poticanja čitanja.
