Desetgodišnjica smrti Gabriela Garcíje Márqueza obilježava se na izniman način, izdavanjem njegova posljednjeg djela pod naslovom Vidimo se u kolovozu (En agosto nos vemos). Roman je García Márquez napisao desetak godina prije smrti, a pritisnut bolešću koja mu je utjecala na um, u trenutku stvaranja dvojio je želi li ga objaviti. Njegovi sinovi odlučili su da protok vremena donese završni sud o djelu, a kad su ga nakon više godina ponovno pročitali, bili su zadivljeni načinom pisanja i ljepotom same priče i stoga su donijeli odluku o objavi romana. Vidimo se u kolovozu pripovijeda o ženi na pragu pedesete koja svakog 16. kolovoza odlazi na karipski otok kako bi položila gladiole na grob svoje majke i tom prigodom se upušta u kratke ljubavne veze. Njezin inače sretni obiteljski život ostaje neokrnjen, jer na put odlazi sama, a njezin suprug i djeca ne znaju ništa o njezinom iskakanju iz granica konvencija. Ovaj roman izvanredan je prikaz ženstvenosti, seksualnosti i žudnje te je savršeni „grand finale“ opusa Gabriela Garcíje Márqueza.
