Prva slikovnica o Vina Vini, neobičnom stanovniku šume, zaigranom i znatiželjnom. Vina Vina opaža i doživljava svijet upravo onako kako ga opažaju mališani i to njegov lik čini toliko drugačijim i bliskim najmlađoj publici koja ga jedina, u konačnici, može potpuno razumjeti i suživjeti se s njegovim doživljajima. „Sve što je dolje mnogo je bliže oku, krupnije nego što se odraslom oku čini i beskrajno zanimljivije i uzbudljivije. Toliko toga može se otkriti u šumi, vidjeti čaroliju u svakoj grančici, lokvici, kamenčiću i kukcu…“ U prvoj priči "Vina Vina i vučji štap" Vina Vina pronalazi grančicu koja postaje njegov štap. Ali ne običan štap, nego sve čudesno što jedan štap može biti za malo dijete: motorna pila, ribički štap, brana, olovka za crtanje po pijesku, kosilica trave, kopač rupa... A onda Vina Vina upoznaje vuka, koji mu ispočetka djeluje strašan, no njih se dvojica sprijatelje i provedu dan u zajedničkoj igri. Navečer Vina Vina nosi svoj štap kući, stavlja ga pokraj sebe u krevet. Na štapu se vide otisci vučjih zuba. Vina Vini nedostaje njegov novi prijatelj vuk, a vuku nedostaje Vina Vina. Laku noć, vučji štape!
