Zbirka propisa o djeci sadrži šest skupina izvora (univerzalne, regionalne, subregionalne, dvostrane međunarodne i hrvatske izvore). Posebno je izdvojena skupina osnovnih izvora u kojoj su Deklaracije o pravima djeteta i izvod iz Ustava Republike Hrvatske. Najvažniji međunarodni i hrvatski propisi objavljeni su u cjelini, manje važni, ali značajni objavljeni su u izvodima sadržaja, a za ostale se navode naslovi i podaci o mjestu gdje su objavljeni. Za svaki izvor je navedeno od kuda je prijevod uzet. Izvori koji nisu prevedeni objavljeni su na engleskom jeziku. Tekstovi izvora koji su obuhvaćeni Zbirkom su odabrani prema kriteriju izričitog spominjanja djeteta ili djece (u odgovarajućem padežu ili odgovarajućem pridjevu). Međutim, nekad su djeca obuhvaćena pojmom fizičke osobe, radnika, poreznog vjerovnika ili dužnika, obveznika ili slično, što zahtjeva primjenu općih odredaba o zastupanju. Mutatis mutandis to se događa i s pridjevima. Prema izloženom na djecu se primjenjuje velik broj pravnih izvora. Deklaracije, pravila, smjernice te preporuke i rezolucije za razliku od konvencija ne stvaraju pravne obveze. U predmetnoj knjizi su međutim razvrstane među izvore zajedno s ostalima. Predmetna zbirka obuhvaća izvore važeće na dan 31.XII.2015.
