Vrijeme: nešto više od stoljeća nakon našeg. Sve počinje ljubavnom pričom između Boya, koji predaje na univerzitetu, i Illunga, šefa države. Zabranjena priča, protiv prirode, koja prijeti da postane državna stvar. Zato što se Boya svojim istraživanjem približila Fulasima, potomcima francuskih imigranata koji su napustili svoju zemlju tokom 21. stoljeća, smatrajući da su ih okupirali migranti.
