Obožavatelji uredno obilaze njegov rodni Macclesfield i Manchester u kojem je nasljeđe Joy Divisiona i diskografske kuće Factory Records preraslo u legendu. Autori nove biografije Iana Curtisa doista su kvalificirani za otkrivanje neobičnih događaja iz njegova života. Mick Middles bio je prvi novinar koji je u 70-ima intervjuirao Joy Division i stvorio blizak odnos s grupom. Uz tadašnjeg supruga Tonyja Wilsona, Lindsay Reade suosnivačica je diskografske kuće Factory Records. Zajedno, Mick i Lindsay istražili su legendu o Ianu Curtisu i napisali prvu obimnu knjigu o životu, radu, ljubavnim vezama i smrti tog napaćenog čovjeka u središtu jedinstvene eksplozije pop-energije koja je kasnih 70-ih godina zatresla i zauvijek promijenila Manchester i svjetsku pop-glazbu. Knjiga sadrži i mnoge, ranije neobjavljene fotografije iz osobnih zbirki.
