Knjiga Regionalni tekst dječje književnosti Valentine Majdenić podastire čitateljima kroz pet poglavlja (Uvod, Regionalni tekst hrvatske književnosti i medijska kultura, Regionalna dječja književnost i medijska kultura, Literatura i Izvori) metodička književnopovijesna istraživanja i promišljanja o recepciji regionalne komponente u osnovnoškolskim udžbenicima. Autorica je u izborni korpus uključila one autore koji su vezani uz prostor Slavonije mjestom rođenja, školovanja, privatnoga i društvenoga života (J. Kozarac, S. Tomaš, S. Glavašević), zatim one koji su u Slavoniju došli iz drugih sredina i u njoj su književno djelatni (I. Brlić-Mažuranić, A. Gardaš) te napokon one koji su u Slavoniji rođeni, ali su nastanjeni i djelatni u drugim sredinama (M. S. Mađer, M. Peić, A. G. Matoš). Uz prihvaćenu tezu o slavonskom tekstu hrvatske književnosti autorica regionalno-geografsku tipologiju hrvatske književnosti razvija dalje uočavajući na koji se način ona prilagođava strukturi osnovnoškolskih udžbenika te kojim se metodama interpretacije isti korpus približava konačnom recipijentu-učeniku. Tekstovi okupljeni oko pregledno postavljenih poglavlja upotpunjeni su potrebnom znanstvenom metodologijom (relevantna teorijska literatura i detaljni dokumentarni prilozi), što osigurava njihovu recepciju nastavnicima, doktorantima i studentima. U jedinstvu dobro situirane teme regionalizma, koja ne potire nacionalno, bogate građe i čitljivoga diskursa natopljenog sustavnošću i praktičnim rješenjima knjiga Valentine Majdenić vrijedan je doprinos boljemu razumijevanju regionalizma u hrvatskoj kulturi i te njegove zastupljenosti u dječjoj književnosti.
